Hyper Japan 2011 started out quite smooth on the 1st day, Friday. The venue itself is a great upgrade to last year, and as it is only the 2nd year running, they did a pretty good job with the event. New stalls, sights, and stuff to try-out, Hyper Japan is a great taster to the Japanese culture for the west. Here’s just a quick summary, I’ll get into more detail in posts-to-come. ENJOY the hyper-eye-candy! (image heavy post!)
Part 1: LOTS and LOTS of stalls, shops, and tempting stuff to not just want but NEED!
^ Satoshi Date: LOVELY is the word to sum up his creations and accessories, all handmade mind you!
^ Artbox: Full of kawaii goodness and even some sweets to much on
^ Kimono de Go: Made from kimono material and you can even try a real kimono on! I got 2 little versatile pouches with some sakura prints.
^ Arisa Fukumoto: You can really see her work embodies femininity and softness.
^ Roxie Sweetheart: Alternative accessories which were truly kawaii! I forgot to get one!
^ JP Books: THE place to go for Japanese imported books, mags, and stuff. I will surely visit again soon!
^ Piperoid: Believe it or not, this is all made out of rolled paper! Origami in a new dimension.
^ Nanoblock: Teeny tiny blocks! Those who were lucky got some free kits, and I am one of them! I’m a happy mochi (^_^)
^ Baby, The Stars Shine Bright & Alice and the Pirates: Designer lolita shop which caters for the cute & sweet to the dark & gothic.
^ Saya Cafe: Decora sweet accessories and even a bag holder! I love Saya-san’s creations! met her again and she remembered me, such a sweet lady.
^ Miwary: My new favourite find! I bought a bow which can be a brooch or a hair clip! I’m saving to wear it for a perfect outfit. These fabric tea cups where just screaming cute! Miwa-san really likes her attic-like inspired stuff, same here!
AND TONS MORE! including
Tofu Cute who sold KAWAII to the fullest treats and treasures, the people selling were as cute as their products!
Tabio the international sock brand and their really wide range of quality products
Tokyo Fixed the Japanese bicycle haven in London that not only sell and repair bikes but also other cool gear.
I swear, it was like a mini-market full of unique and amazing finds. From indie labels, to even international designer shops, Hyper Japan 2011 gave shopping fans a big grin on the faces!
PS. to self: save up a lot! for next year! lol
